Medical Care & Support
At the Cancer Center of Santa Barbara, we uphold our tradition of excellence by meeting the needs and expectations of those on the cancer journey. Patients at the Cancer Center can feel confident that they will receive the highest level of clinical care from our physicians, nurses, and staff, a full range of wellness and supportive care programs and services from which to choose, and access to the most innovative cancer treatments available anywhere.
The Cancer Center provides medical care in three departments: Radiation Oncology, Medical Oncology, and Nuclear Medicine. We are the sole provider of radiation therapy in Santa Barbara. Our medical departments are complemented by our Research Program which provides patients with access to a wide variety of clinical trials and state-of-the-art care.
In addition to providing medical care, we are committed to helping people with the emotional and practical aspects of a cancer diagnosis. Our Support Services department offers a wide range of resources for patients, family members, and friends. Support groups, counseling, transportation to treatments, and financial assistance are but a few of the available services.
Our Wellness Program takes an integrative approach to cancer care by focusing on the “whole” person – body, mind, and spirit. Patients can integrate complementary therapies (i.e. yoga, nutrition, healing touch) with traditional cancer care to reduce stress, improve treatment tolerance, or enhance recovery.
Maintaining our long-standing commitment to education is made possible by our Cancer Resource Library, a comfortable facility with print and electronic cancer education and resource materials, and our Cancer Prevention programs, both of which are devoted to patients, families, and community members seeking information on all aspects of cancer.
